Mega Marketplace MiccoChic Contest Winner

I would like to congratulate our winner, Elizabeth Melvin of the Brevard County Natural Resources Office. She won the elegant MiccoChic evening bag being given away by MiccoChic at the Chamber of Commerce Mega Marketplace on April 23rd. I would like to thank everyone who stopped by the MiccoChic display, and special thanks to all that entered our contest. It was a fun day and I can't wait to see you all again

Robbie and the Aflac Duck

When I attended the Chamber of Commerce Mega Marketplace on April 23rd, I had the pleasure of meeting ALOT of people. However, one company made the day of my Labradoodle, Robbie. Robbie LOVES toys, especially plush toys that talk. I received two (2) Aflac plush talking ducks that day, a small one and a bigger one. I tried to hide them from Robbie but he knew I was in possession of plush toys the moment I walked in the door, don't ask me how. So he ended up with both ducks and I took this picture to document the moment. I think Aflac should hire Robbie as co-spokesman for their company.

Santa Claws

I would like to introduce my cat Santa Claws. He likes to be photographed with my creations He is so named because he came to live with my husband and I around Christmas in 2006. I mean he picked us. We were already possessed by another cat for the last 15 years, Fats Domino (photos to follow later) and Buckeye (3 years R.I.P.) and we had just brought home our "twin" labradoodle puppies a month before when Santa Claws appeared. He just came on in the doggie door and started using Buckeye's and Fats' cat box (which Fats hated) and started eating Buckeye's and Fats' food, so we took him to the vet and had him screened for a microchip. He didn't have one so we had him fixed, given shots and microchipped!

Lisa Stephenson - introduction and background

I am Lisa Stephenson and I am the founding designer for Miccochic.

I am 48 years old. I was born in Washington, D.C., and I grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Prince Georges County. My mother taught me how to knit and crochet when I was 12 years old and I have been knitting and crocheting since then.

I moved from Maryland to South Florida in 1981 and I met my future husband in 1984. We moved to Central Florida, Melbourne Beach, in 1996, and finally settled in Micco, Florida, in 2002.

Micco is a beautiful, rural area of Central Florida, located on the Indian River, and I named my company "Miccochic" as a tribute to its unique beauty. The view of the river I see everyday inspires my creativity and I am truly blessed to live here.
